UV Detectors |
The UV detectors are devices designed to measure ultraviolet radiation ranges separated. The three ranges of radiation are:
|
UV-C Detector | OPTO-250 |
The UV-C Detector consist of two main parts: The head and the viewer module, shown in the figure to the right. 1.- The head, has a UV detector with a filter that measures only UV-C, betwen 200 and 280 nm. 2.- UV-C radiation has high energy and is very dangerous to health. This radiation is used in water desinfection and sterilization equipment. 3.- The detector shows the UV-C radiation intensity in units of uW/cm2 using a LCD screen 4.- Power: Uses a 9 V battery. 5.- Optionally, it can be connected to a computer to record, display and store data. |
|
UV-B Detector | OPTO-300 |
The UV-C Detector consist of two main parts: The head and the viewer module, shown in the figure to the right. 1.- The head, has an UV detector and filter to measure only UV-B, betwen 280 and 320 nm. 2.- The UV-B radiation has lower energy than UV-C but it is dangerous to health. Depending on the intensity, it can produce everything from tanning to skin burns 3.- The detector displays the intensity of UV-B radiation in units of uW/cm2 using a LCD screen 4.- Power: Uses a 9 V battery. 5.- Optionally, it can be connected to a computer to record, display and store data. |
|
Detector UV-A | OPTO-360 |
The UV-C Detector consist of two main parts: The head and the viewer module, shown in the figure to the right. 1.- The head, has a UV detector and filter that measures only UV-A, betwen 320 and 400 nm. 2.- The UV-A radiation has low energy and is less hazardous to health. This radiation is used in equipment for dyeing fabrics, industrial processes and medical treatments. 3.- The detector shows the intensity of UV-A radiation in units of mW/cm2 using a LCD screen 4.- Power: Uses a 9 V battery. 5.- Optionally, it can be connected to a computer connected to record, display and store data. |
USES The detectors can be used to measured instanly the level of radiation from the sun, can be used to measure the instensity of UV lamps, such as those used in the solarium, to measure the transmission of glass or acrylic. To determine the level of radiation in semi-exposed areas (in barns, trees, etc) in schools to protect during physical education classes. |
